Just Finished Tongue Fu!

Had a few hours on a post-Sandy, rainy afternoon to finish a book I started at the end of August. Tongue Fu! by Sam Horn was excellent--filled with positive, helpful advice on dealing with all kinds of personalities.

Trying a new tool--Prezi

My first prezi--created this Prezi for PSU EDLR540 to use in the Intro. to Computer class at LGHCHS. Used the iPad2 with the help of Grace M from class to create the video--THANKS GRACE!! Fun to create but a little frustrating to share the actual Prezi via the link!

Finalizing MS Publisher Lesson Plan

Forgot just how much I like MS Publisher for informal newsletters. 
Classes will be trying there hand on newletters next week.

Midterm Break

Just finished reading all LGH class blogs todate--wow, nice job to everyone.  I love reading the writings of all because I feel as though I have the opportunity to get to know everyone just a little bit better.  As I write today it is pouring outisde yet again.  This is good because it is making me stay on task instead of taking off for the hills which is where I'd rather be with my trusty horse Lady. 

My class reflection this week was on my educational law class.  I learned that even though students have Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs), if they are causing repeated disruption in the classroom they can be disciplined by suspension.  You can suspend a labeled child 10 consecutive days and up to 15 nonconsecutive days before a special placement hearing takes place.  Thank goodness I've never had to deal with a repeat offender in my classroom--not such a nice topic to learn about, but good to know.

New Semester, New Look

If at first you don't succeed, try again and again and again!  That could be a motto sometimes for computer use!  Many new tools to try in this semester.  Hope you will find some that you like.

New Design; New Beginning

I'm excited to begin my blog again. Bought a new beta fish today to celebrate. His name is Byte.
